And to submit forms, nothing beats the internet. The only problem is teaching writing. Most kids once they have been let loose on a computer never want to return to the good old notebook and pencil. So teaching writing becomes a chore and something you nearly have to force on your kids. I use this Montessori Teaching Reading and Writing Program that uses sandpaper letters and it has nothing to do with computers. This is a complete off-line program that I used to teach my daughter and I found it to be very effective. 

There are many teaching programs that you can buy and download that make computer homeschooling your kids easier. Some programs you can just leave your kids alone with the computer and they can teach themselves, especially programs with sound which is ideal for homeschooling. 

Nowadays computers and homeschooling go hand in hand but I think you have to be careful as your children can very easily specialize in one area. Therefore other areas of homeschooling can get left behind so you should keep an eye on what your children are actually looking at on the computer.
