When your children get older it is time to think about high school homeschooling

There seems to be a cult grown up around public high school, made popular by the movies and TV programs and high school home schoolers think they are missing out on a part of their lives. But in

reality most TV shows, like 20/20s Stupid In America, and movies make a mockery of the mainstream school system and help put parents off sending their kids to public school.

If you decide to high school homeschool your teen you will possibly find that they fly through the set public school curriculum with ease. ‘The No Child Left Behind’ policy seems to be dragging down the school system and causing many children to be left behind. When home schooling high school students you find they can learn by themselves. And they will go deeper into subjects they like, so they learn them a lot better than they would at public school. Also there are less distractions at home than in the classroom. therefore the teens have more time to learn, or they can cover the subject faster at home than at school.

This would be one of the main advantages of homeschooling a high school student. This way they can do subjects for university credits so it is easier to get a degree. The main problem with homeschooling high school is the kids themselves. They think they are missing out on a part of their lives and a lot actually dream of going to public school.

Also you have to go out of your way to help your teen join clubs and groups so they don’t feel so isolated. All they really need is some close friends and if they are lonely they think school will fulfill that need. So make sure they have some good friends and homeschooling a high school student will be easier.
