When homeschooling a high school student you should follow a homeschool program for high school

The main difference between homeschooling a primary school student and a high school student is, with high school you should have the goal of a high school diploma. This costs money but it will also get your child

A homeschooling program for high school students is a lot easier as the students are older and can follow a course by themselves. 

You are more in a position of supervisor as opposed to teacher. If you do not know the subject, like math, and you have no time to make yourself familiar with the subject and your kids cant work it out. Then it is time to hit the Blogs and forums to find out. Normally someone out there will guide you. 

If you do not want to follow a structured program for your high school student, don’t worry. You still can set your own curriculum but I do advise getting a high school diploma. 

In the last couple of years before your child will graduate look in your area and find out what diploma the school students sit for. See if there is a way your can enroll your child then get stuck into test preparation. If you do any on-line courses you get good at this. You look at the test papers and you work backwards. 

This way your high school student is learning what you need to know. Also let your student practice on past test papers then they get familiar with the test design.
