When you are looking for a homeschool supply store, what do you do?We all need homeschool supplies but where
do you get them. For stationary and everyday supplies I just get them when
I need them. I don’t stock up for the year or anything like that, and
now I have pencils, So maybe it is a good idea to have a list. The main homeschool supply purchases I look at amd ponder over buying are usually downloadable courses as these are the easiest to get. And normally you get a free sample so you can see if your kids are going to use it or not. For learning to read and write I use this Montessori Reading and Writing ecourse which made a big difference in my daughter’s reading ability, Also another downloadable course is the games ebook Brain-e-games. That kept me and the kid happy for a while. For bigger more expensive items like microscopes and telescopes ask around at your homeschooling group and see if you can trade or borrow one. At the moment I’m considering buying a microscope as my daughter has now fallen in love with watching little bugs. Another thing is books, I love libraries as my house is full of books and some of them I am sure have never been looked at. You do not need to buy many books. That is why I love ebooks, they take up less space. If you are going to buy books my advice is don’t, just go to the library and borrow it. For learning Spanish I tried out this Rocket Spanish downloadable course and found it to be very effective, but a bit pricey. You have to ask yourself “Will my kids ever use this?” and if the answer is “No” forget it. For a look at the homeschool supply shops that I recommend see our Homeschooling page
