When you are new to homeschooling you find that you are surrounded by homeschooling resources, but how do you find which are the best to use. Easy, you ask. But who do you ask, you ask at your local homeschooling group. At your home schooling group you meet parents who are homeschooling so they already have a wealth of knowledge at their

Also they know which resources are better for what subject. 

That information is priceless as you will save a lot of time and money by not trying out the home schooling resources that aren’t the best. If you are not into finding out your own home schooling resources join a home schooling school like Alpha Omega Publications as they have a full curriculum. This school has been around for a number of years so it is pretty reliable. 

For teaching young children you need good home schooling resources for teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. 

When I was teaching my kid reading and writing I used this Montessori Reading and Writing program and I found it to be very effective. The course gave you the templates for making sandpaper letters, you just had to make them yourselves. The kid loved the feel of the sandpaper letters so that might have helped with the reading and writing. Also kids love games, so for math, phonics and geography games I used brain-e-games. These are hands on games that you play with your kids, really good, better that some of the online games.
