If you can why not try homeschooling your children

Homeschooling has been around since we trekked across America and now it seems to be gaining in popularity. As modern society is producing an alarming number of antisocial kids, and kids with learning disabilities and severe psychological problems, it could be safer to homeschool your children. Also bullying is on the rise and is a severe problem in some schools, along with drugs and increased peer pressure. So your kids can have problems at school.

If you have the time and can do it, then homeschooling is an option you could consider.

You will first have to check out the legal side of things for your area, then ask yourself if you can do it and if you want to. If the answer is ‘Yes’ then you have to rearrange your life. There will be no parking your kids in front of the TV to keep them quiet. You can use the TV and dvds for documentary programs, and other educational programs that you should be able to borrow from your local library.

There are many resources on the internet like learning games and downloadable books whether free or pay. And you are not alone. There are many home schooling families out there and websites with blogs and notice boards and even magazines.

The big problem is finding a site that suits you, as there are many out there in cyber space.

One thing that can be neglected is exercise as there is no one to play with, so me and my kids use a skipping rope and that keeps us pretty healthy. Another thing, if your kids spend a lot of time on the computer they should do eye exercises. Really they should alternate between the computer, the kitchen table and the sofa. And in summer outside under a tree is a good place to study.

All the best teaching your children.
