Is the world recovering?I don’t think so. The financial crisis that has
overtaken the world during the last year was triggered by banks and their
financial situation. But it was actually Japan has been in a recession for the last 20
years and it still can’t pull itself back up because of demographics That seems to be a responsibility thing.People don’t want to bring kids into a world when times are tough Japan stopped having kids years ago when they modernized after the Second World War. And when you stop having kids you have nothing to spend your money on so you stop spending money. The growth model is the only economic model we know so when your kids grow up you stop spending money and your economy goes into a recession. Now the new part of the equation is when you are in a recession you stop having kids. And when you stop having kids you have nothing to spend your money on so you stop spending money. The recession continues. At the moment the good old USA who was the consumer of last resort has run out of kids so don’t expect this recession to end any time soon.We have to change our economic model from the growth model because the economies of the world have stopped growing. And that is what we are not doing. We do not have another economic model to follow. We are in uncharted waters and the strange part is we are not trying to change.
