"What You Need To Know To Survive The Future"

Find out How Your Children Can.....
My Contribution To History
I'm not an army man nor a survival man. I'm just an everyday type of dude that took an interest in how long our civilization is going to last. I was into peak oil before peak oil became mainstream. I've been following global warming and climate change since it started so I've been waiting and preparing for some drastic changes in the way we live for a long time now.
I'm into gardening, sustainable living and saving seeds. In the spring and summer time I throw seeds around when I go for a walk to see if I can start wild gardens. I've checked out the survival manuals and I'm a great follower of Bear Grills and the Survivorman. As well as Discovery Channel's “I shouldn't be Alive” and a few of the other survival type programs. You can pick up some good ideas from them.

But the main thrust of what I'm interested in is history. The Roman Empire and why it went under as well as the other empires and how man has progressed from the cave to where we are now. And how far we are going to go back when things come apart then how long it takes to reinvent the technology we have lost. I'm a great follower of Gerard Diamond and his collapse scenarios due to climate change and guns, germs and steel.
I will look back and try to figure out what actually tipped us over the edge because everyone under 50 years old will see the start. We are going to collapse but we don't know when. This book is about my journey and how I plan to survive the future. This is a true story it just hasn't happened yet. The planet is changing and it will not be as friendly as to us as it has been for the last 150 odd years. We are out growing our water supply, our food supply, our oil supply and our electricity supply. Something has got to give we just don't know which one will give first.
I'm an English teacher, I've been teaching English as a Second Language for years now. I lived in Mexico city for a while before the place modernized and before the big Mexico earthquake destroyed the place. I remember lying in bed and every time there was a shake thinking is this the big one. But it happened after I had left. Then Mexico City was an amazing place to live in. A huge sprawling over crowded metropolis that was full of life. After that I moved onto Central America to have a look around.
Somewhere along the line I ended up in Indonesia before it went mad. A combination of collapse and over crowding. When I was there is was a laid back place with very friendly people. I could never understand why it went mad. But I think it might have had something to do the kids. The parents would count off their kids. “This is number one, this is number two” and so on up to number eight and sometimes up to number twelve. There were kids everywhere. I loved that place, probably a combination of being a burnt out hippie in a laid back country. But in the end it came unglued.

Next it was on to a modern overcrowded city that never stopped - this was Hong Kong before the Asia financial crisis. And it was the place to be. But the overcrowding and unhealthy living paid a price so I moved over the border to mainland China, before that place went economically mad. There you could live cheap and healthy and they loved learning so I always had a job. I lived there during their economical miracle and the changes were something sort of amazing. Before Hong Kong used to be the place to be but it was left behind in the dust and pollution coming from the next economic superpower. And China is still growing. It could possibly be the last big country standing with its One Child Policy, if it still has it, and not being a democracy. They can still feed themselves and they don't use much oil to do it.
