                                                                                                                        peak oil theory

Peak oil theory is amazingly simple it just means that after we have used up half the oil in the world we have problems

The peak oil theory was the baby of King Hubbert an oil geologist working for Shell Oil. Using his experience as an oil geologist he correctly worked out when the peak of oil production would be in the US. He said 1970 and after the peak had passed the oil industry came to the same conclusion.

He was ridiculed somewhat severely in the oil industry until it turned out he was correct. He then turned his attention to the world peak of oil production. To cut a long story short it turned out to be around 2000 but that didn’t include the recently discovered oil like in the North Sea and around Norway.

So most of King Hubbert’s followers think now, 2007, is a pretty good time for peak oil.

If not now then within the next 10 years, but that could mean from here on in, life is going to get tough with oil inflation eating up all excessive income. I am hoping the internet will remain intact but I have my reservations. People like me and you are going to watch peak oil theory turn into peak oil fact. All the debunkers of peak oil and all the people behind the peak oil myths will know very soon if they are fight or we are right.

The generation alive today will see the start of peak oil and we will witness how the world will change to a energy less world. Cuba has already survived it’s peak oil and it managed to survive and prosper but it went through some pretty lean times. Can we do the same?

Check out the Blog and have your say and then head over to our Peak Oil page and have a look, you might find something to help you survive the future.
