phonics tutor If you are looking for a phonics tutor why not turn yourself into onePhonics are nothing to be intimidated
about so turning yourself into a phonics tutor is easy. We use phonics
every time we speak so as a phonics tutor you just have to work out which
letters sound like what And that is easy, we just drag out the word as we speak. We will use the word ‘cat’ as it has three different phonic sounds. Just drag out the word, say ‘cccaaattt’ and there you have it. The three phonic sounds. Actually it is better to teach the word as two sounds ‘ca’ and ‘at’ because this way it is easier for the child to say. And most importantly it is easier for the child to join the word together when speaking. The big problem, I think, is when the child is saying the word they have trouble joining all the phonic sounds together. I keep telling the child to say the word faster and faster to try and get the child to speak the word instead of three distinct phonic sounds. When you break the word ‘cat' into phonic sounds it can be difficult for the child but when you join a letter to the vowel it is easier to say. This is actually the approach that Maria Montessori uses in her teaching reading and writing method. And her system has been around for a hundred years so it must be pretty good. If you want to be a phonics tutor I use this Montessori course and I have found it to be very effective. It is the Montessori method as has been taught over the century and the system is still as good today as it was when she started teaching it a hundred years ago.
