planning a vegetable garden When planning a vegetable garden don’t get hooked up on the planning stage just get some seeds in the groundVegetable
gardening is about growing vegetables
not about planning to grow
vegetables, so just start planting. And that means if you are not sure
if vegetable gardening is for you just drop a few squash
or pumpkin seeds under a outside tap or faucet and see what happens.
If you already have a Most plants like sunlight so if possible plant the vegetable plants in the sun. That usually means on the south side of the house, because of the afternoon sun. After you have seen how easy it is to grow vegetables you can decide where to put a vegetable garden bed. If you are putting in raised vegetable beds get it right the first time because they are hard to change. The best place for a vegetable garden bed is in full sun not in some shaded corner or under a big leafy tree that doesn’t let any light though. And it is best if you can walk around the bed and it is not too wide. Most vegetable garden beds are about 1 meter or 1 yard wide and as long as you want.I like long beds because I like trickle or drip irrigation and I just run the pipes down the bed – 2 pipes per bed about a foot or 30 centimeters apart. If you are making raised beds, long beds are good even though most households like beds that are not too long. So when you start planning a vegetable garden the idea is to get seeds in the soil.
