                                                                                                                              world peak oil

The question on very few people’s mind is “When is world peak oil

The most important question about the future of humanity and nobody wants to know about it. Somehow I think there is very little help for mankind. According to most oil geologists the world peak oil is now if we haven’t already past it or sometime in the very near future. The main

problem with the world oil peak is we don’t know when it is until we have past it, so it is something we look at in hindsight.

Most politicians and economists say the world peak is so far away we don’t have to worry about it.

But they look at different things. If a politician started going on about peak oil and what we had to do to change to met it, he or she would never be elected again. I’d say most politicians know about it, but every time they hear the words "peak oil" they have heart problems. Economists on the other hand think completely different from everyday people and running out of something as crucial to life on this planet as oil will never register with them.

Most oil geologists would agree that the oil shocks of the1970’s actually gave us a few extra years to prepare for world peak oil but we are doing nothing about it. If we never had the oil embargo we would now be well over the peak and it would be too late to do anything.

Using history as a guide it seems mankind just carries on with business as usual until the bitter end and then all hell breaks lose.

We should be using the last of the oil to prepare for a oil-less world but what are we doing. Countries are just competing with each other to see who can use up the most oil before we run out. Not exactly the right way for a sustainable future. To add a comment check out the Blog and then head over to our Peak Oil page and find out how to survive the future.
