Homeschooling Now
homeschooling has gone cross cultural and African-American
homeschooling is becoming more popular.
When we think of home schooling we usually think of ordinary Americans but that is not always the case. America is a multicultural society therefore we would expect other cultures to take up homeschooling. And one of these is the African-American sector of society. Also African American children learn differently and these differences are not taken into account in the mainstream school system. One of these differences is the way we interact with our children. We as parents are always asking questions to see how much our kids know, but in African American families this is usually not done. So when the teacher at school asks an African American child a question sometimes they have trouble answering the question. Because they are not used to answering questions as opposed to not knowing the answer. When homeschooling your children you can teach them in a style more suited to how they learn. So African American homeschooling can take into account the best way to teach your own children. Also you can choose what they need to learn, as well as how to teach them and when you are outside the mainstream school society this is a good choice.
